Take a Photo Acworth is an interactive photography exhibition which will be on display at Frana Brown Park in Acworth, GA beginning September 4th (through 9/25). At the park, visitors will be invited to "take a photo" as a keepsake while supplies last. I'm excited to be participating in this wonderful, local, public art exhibit, and will have three photos available (the top three pictured below- Splash, Sunset at the Marina, and Viviparidae Violation). Be sure to mark your calendars so you can grab a free print before they all get snatched up!
If you're local, be sure to stop by to view and give a new home to your favorite photo from the exhibition, or view a digital version of the installation here- https://acworthtourism.org/take-a-photo-acworth/
UPDATE: Prints are going FAST, but they have recently restocked them. Stop by if you're in the area!

Upcoming Earth Art Virtual Workshop: All About Blue
We have a few spaces left for our only virtual workshop of the fall season!
Wednesday, September 2nd, 10:30-11:30am
Join us for this one-time virtual workshop where we'll learn all about the color blue! We'll discuss the history of the color, the difficulties of making blue pigments, blue as a representational and emotional color, blue in color theory, where we see lots of blue use in various mediums, and we'll talk about one famous artist's "blue period". After the lecture and discussion portion, we will then take a little bit of class time to individually do a (blue) color mixing activity, and then share our work with the class.
We will be meeting for a private online group class via Zoom, for approximately one hour (class may go over the hour if the activity takes longer or students are really engaged in discussion). This class will be in a lecture and discussion format, where we will talk and share images via the computer screen from the comforts and safety of our own homes. Students will need a tablet or computer with Internet access, a microphone, and a camera on it. Smart phones work as well, but are not recommended due to their screen size. Students should also attend class with a few of their own materials (see below) to complete the in-class assignment. This class is best suited to students ages 7-12 years old.
Material list: Paper (watercolor paper, or a thicker, toothy paper preferred), and watercolor paints, paintbrush, a cup of water, and a pen or pencil. If you do not have watercolors, the activity can also be done with a set of colored pencils.
Cost: $13/student.
Advance registration is required and can be found HERE

Push & Pull (mini series)
Something totally different today, something black & white, greyscale, and completely abstract... I've had this strong feeling for the past couple months to get in the studio and create something like this. To experience the process of the materials. I know exactly why this concept has been so strongly nagging at me, and it directly relates to everything that's been going on in my own head and in this crazy new way of life. No idea at this point if this little mini series will lead to something else or end up getting pushed aside and forgotten about, but for today, it's right here.
