Upcoming Earth Art Virtual Workshop: All About Blue

We have a few spaces left for our only virtual workshop of the fall season!

All About Blue: Virtual Workshop
Wednesday, September 2nd, 10:30-11:30am

Join us for this one-time virtual workshop where we'll learn all about the color blue! We'll discuss the history of the color, the difficulties of making blue pigments, blue as a representational and emotional color, blue in color theory, where we see lots of blue use in various mediums, and we'll talk about one famous artist's "blue period". After the lecture and discussion portion, we will then take a little bit of class time to individually do a (blue) color mixing activity, and then share our work with the class.

We will be meeting for a private online group class via Zoom, for approximately one hour (class may go over the hour if the activity takes longer or students are really engaged in discussion). This class will be in a lecture and discussion format, where we will talk and share images via the computer screen from the comforts and safety of our own homes. Students will need a tablet or computer with Internet access, a microphone, and a camera on it. Smart phones work as well, but are not recommended due to their screen size. Students should also attend class with a few of their own materials (see below) to complete the in-class assignment. This class is best suited to students ages 7-12 years old.

Material list: Paper (watercolor paper, or a thicker, toothy paper preferred), and watercolor paints, paintbrush, a cup of water, and a pen or pencil. If you do not have watercolors, the activity can also be done with a set of colored pencils.

Cost: $13/student.

Advance registration is required and can be found HERE
