Earth Art Fall 2018 Preview
I'm super excited to be heading into my 3rd year of teaching my Earth Art classes and offering these unique learning and creating experiences to children in my community. We'll be returning later this fall with another session of art classes, with topics and projects you won't find anywhere else! On select Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30am, we'll meet with homeschoolers to build our very own Earth Art kits.
These kits will be put together with natural materials, handmade tools and art supplies, and are perfect for taking with you outdoors for some open-air sketching and painting. Kits come packaged in a hinged wooden box and will include watercolor paper, horsehair paintbrush, pigment dish and paintbrush rest, 2 starter pigments in containers, mini easel, and students choice of charcoal stick or charcoal crayon. Yes, that means your child will learn how to make a quality paintbrush by hand, with bamboo and real horsehair!!
Class dates are: Wednesday 10/3, 10/10, 10/24, 11/7, & 11/14.
Because each class builds off of each other, this session is available for full session sign-ups only, and drop-in classes will not be offered. *Advance registration is required*. Class topics listed below are subject to change as needed.
Class 1: Create pigments and painting
Class 2: Make clay pigment dish and paintbrush rest
Class 3: Make paintbrush
Class 4: Final touches/catch up, box design, prep paper
Class 5: Review, assemble kits, display for parents
