NEW Workshop- Learn your D-SLR

What: Individual (or sometimes group) workshop classes to learn how to use your own camera equipment properly and to get the most out of what you have. Visual learning with live instruction, tips & tricks that are not covered in your camera manual, tutorials, Q&As, & more. Customized sessions available.

Who: Professionally trained photographer and camera equipment technician. 10 yr. photography experience with a BFA in Photography from The Savannah College of Art & Design. Fieldwork experience in newspaper, magazine, portrait, fine art & more. Three years technician experience in testing & evaluating camera equipment for one of the world’s largest camera dealers.

Where: The BlondeShot Creative office in Marietta, GA. Also available in your own home in the greater Atlanta area.

When: Sessions can be scheduled for available Saturday or Sunday afternoons.

Class 1: The Basics

Learn how to…

- Properly hold your camera when shooting

- Preventative care & tips, how to clean your equipment

- Box components

- Mode dials & universal symbols

- Shooting on auto, AV, TV, SCN

- Basic functions often used (ST, flash, drive mode, video, quality)

- Parts of your camera (ports, tripod mount, lugs, etc.)

- The basics of: shutter speeds, apertures, ISO/ASA

- Your lens

- Basic menu navigation

- How to download, erase, & format from your media cards

- Your questions answered

- Hands on equipment time, test time, visuals, pocket references & handouts given when available


Class 2: Beyond Basics

- Intro. To attachments (flashes, lenses, cable releases, etc.)

- Shooting on Manual & Program

- More on shutter speeds, aperture, ISO/ASA correlation

- More on menu navigation & settings

- Proper maintenance (cleaning, sensor cleaning, etc.)

- White balance, histograms, proper exposure, etc.

- Your questions answered

- Hands on equipment time, test time, visuals, pocket references & handouts given when available
