from gallery walls to a new home

Unless I sell a piece of artwork myself to an individual, I rarely know where a piece ends up. This is the case for work that is in pretty much any art show, gallery, or auction. In instances like these, I often wonder who bought it, where it is... is it in a pile of rubbish unloved somewhere or is it lovingly adorning someones walls who really appreciates it?

A few years ago I was asked to participate in an art show benefiting breast cancer. It was held at Young Blood Gallery and the included art works were being sold through a silent auction. I sold the photograph above, to who I never knew.... until recently. Three years after the show I find out the curator of the show purchased my photo for himself and his wife and that it's still on their wall. Awesome! I just love stories with happy endings.
